Guangzhou

Canton Fair city — apparel, beauty, and wholesale markets

Guangzhou is China's trade-show capital and its densest cluster of wholesale markets. Twice a year, the Canton Fair fills the Pazhou complex with tens of thousands of exhibitors; year-round, the city's garment, beauty, and textile districts move enormous volumes at every price tier. Our Guangzhou team attends the fair on your behalf and works the wholesale markets daily — sourcing, auditing factories, and managing garment production from sample to shipment.

Overview

Why source from Guangzhou?

Guangzhou's sourcing power comes from concentration. The Canton Fair — officially the China Import and Export Fair — is the country's oldest and largest trade show, and it turns the city into the center of global sourcing every spring and autumn. But the fair is only the visible tip: the surrounding districts host over a thousand professional wholesale markets, from Baima's mid-range fashion to Shisanhang's fast-turnover trend pieces, each with its own pricing logic and buyer culture.

For apparel and beauty buyers, Guangzhou is hard to beat. The city's garment ecosystem stretches from fabric sourcing at the Zhongda textile market through cut-and-sew workshops in Panyu and Zengcheng, all the way to finished-goods wholesalers who can put your label on trending styles within weeks. Beauty follows the same pattern — Guangzhou's cosmetics wholesale and manufacturing clusters cover everything from skincare and makeup to beauty equipment, with mature private-label infrastructure.

The catch is that wholesale markets are built for traders, not brands. Stalls sell what's trending now, minimums and quality vary wildly, and 'export quality' means different things to different sellers. Our job in Guangzhou is to turn market access into a reliable supply chain: identifying the stalls and workshops that can actually deliver your spec, auditing the factories behind them, and managing production with inspections so the tenth order looks like the first.

On the ground

Key markets we work in

The markets, districts, and industrial zones where our Guangzhou team spends its time.

Canton Fair Complex (Pazhou)

Home of the China Import and Export Fair, held every April and October in three phases covering electronics, home goods, textiles, and more. Around 30,000 exhibitors and 200,000 overseas buyers attend each session. Our team walks the fair with your sourcing brief, collects catalogs and quotes, and vets exhibitors — so you get the value of attending without the flight.

Baima Garment Wholesale Market

Guangzhou's most established fashion wholesale market, known for mid-range women's wear with better finishing than the trend-driven halls. Baima is where many domestic brands and export traders place repeat orders. We use it for buyers who need consistent quality on fashion basics and private-label-ready styles.

Shisanhang Garment Market

The fast-fashion engine of Guangzhou — dense, competitive, and built for speed. Shisanhang stalls turn around new styles in days and sell at sharp prices, making it ideal for trend-driven e-commerce. The trade-off is variable quality, which is exactly why our team inspects before you commit to volume.

Zhongda Textile Market

One of China's largest fabric markets, supplying the garment workshops of the Pearl River Delta. If you're developing custom apparel, this is where we source and verify fabrics — checking composition, weight, and color fastness before your production run begins. Fabric is where garment quality is decided, so we never skip this step.

How we work in Guangzhou

Sourcing is a local sport. Here's what our team on the ground actually does for you.

1

Canton Fair representation

Send us your brief before each fair session and our team will walk the relevant halls, photograph products, negotiate with exhibitors, and deliver a shortlist of vetted suppliers with quotes. You get the fair's full value — including the exhibitors you'd never find online — without leaving your office.

2

Wholesale market sourcing & comparison

Our buyers work the garment and beauty districts daily, pulling options from multiple markets and comparing price, quality, and minimums side by side. For trending products, this usually means same-week supplier shortlists; for custom development, it means knowing exactly which workshops can handle your spec.

3

Garment factory audits in Panyu & Zengcheng

The real production often happens outside the wholesale halls — in workshops and factories around Guangzhou. We audit them in person: machines, capacity, workforce, quality systems, and export history. For denim, knitwear, and tailored garments, this step is what separates a reliable partner from a stall that outsources everything.

4

Compliance for beauty & regulated products

Cosmetics, skincare, and beauty devices face real regulatory requirements in most markets — ingredient restrictions, labeling rules, device certifications. We work with factories that already export to your region and verify their documentation, so your products clear customs and retail shelves without surprises.

5

Consolidation & export from Guangzhou

Orders from multiple markets and factories are consolidated at our Guangzhou warehouse, quality-checked, and shipped via Nansha port, Guangzhou airport, or express courier — including Amazon FBA prep and labeling. One point of contact from first sample to delivered shipment.

FAQ

Sourcing from Guangzhou: common questions

If you can attend, the fair is worth experiencing at least once — the scale and the face-to-face relationships are genuinely useful. But many buyers can't justify the trip every session, and that's where we come in. We attend all three phases of every session with client briefs, so you get supplier shortlists, quotes, and samples without the travel cost. Most of our clients use a mix: we cover every fair, they visit when it makes strategic sense.
Usually not — most market stalls are traders who add a margin over the workshop that made the goods. That's fine for testing products at low minimums, but for volume orders we trace the supply chain back to the actual factory and negotiate there. The market finds the product; the factory sets the real price. Our audits make sure the factory you pay is the factory that produces.
Yes, and it's one of the city's strengths. Many workshops offer private labeling — your tags, labels, and packaging — on existing styles, often with modest minimums. For fully custom designs, we develop tech packs, source fabrics at Zhongda, and manage sampling rounds with audited factories. Expect 2–4 weeks for labeled samples and 4–8 weeks for bulk production, depending on complexity.
Speed and quality are in tension at markets like Shisanhang, so we manage it explicitly. We define an acceptable quality level with you up front, inspect pre-production samples, run in-line checks during production, and do a final AQL inspection before the balance payment. Trend products move fast, but they still have to meet your spec — or they don't ship.
It depends on volume and urgency. Full containers go through Nansha port; smaller loads ship LCL consolidated with other clients' goods; urgent restocks fly from Guangzhou Baiyun airport or go by express courier. Because we're consolidating at our Guangzhou warehouse anyway, we can usually combine your orders into the most economical option — and we'll quote all three so you can see the trade-offs.
